The Golden I Award will be judged and awarded based on the following breakdown:

50% Attendance/Participation
15% Opening Cheer
15% Ending Video*
5% Simulation Comp
5% Design Comp
5% Technical Paper
5% Theoretical Comp

Additional Info:

Competition points will be rewarded based on the following: 5 for 1st, 3 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd and 1 for an entry
Attendance will work on a percentage base. (i.e. if Dal has 25 students at the conference and they are involved as such: 4 in competitions, 2 on tours and 14 at speakers, they will get 80% of the possible points available)
Attendance will be taken before speakers and total participation over the entire conference will factor into the final scores.
Opening Cheer and Ending Video -> 15 points for participating

* Remember to keep the video appropriate for the audience. They will be shown during the final banquet and there will be both students and professionals in attendance

To register for the conference send the following information to Matt Richards at: matthew.richards@dal.ca:

List of student’s names attending the conference
Group the students into 4′s (4 students per room)
Any students who will be competing in competitions

The registration deadline is October 31st, 2011

The registration fee is $350 per student. This fee includes 3 nights stay at the hotel, hot breakfast on Friday and Saturday, buffet lunches Friday and Saturday and a banquet supper Saturday evening. It also includes tickets to events in the evening, including the wine and cheese. The fee is due from each school on November 18th, 2011. Cheques can be made payable to: IIE Student Conference 2012. The registration fee can be sent to the following address:
